About Ellie Becker

Ellie Becker, co-founder of Team PR, LLC, All-Star Public Relations, is an award winning publicist. She achieves impressive media coverage for clients with creative and strategic campaigns, which advance business objectives via an array of public relations approaches. She believes in designing programs to enhance clients’ profitability -- as well as reputation.

Prior to Team PR, Becker established E.R. Becker Company, Inc. in 1990 to offer marketing-oriented public relations services to entrepreneurial and growth firms, to nonprofits, and to advertising agencies that do not maintain in-house PR capabilities.

That venture continued a public relations career that began in 1969. Becker worked with John R. Walsh Public Relations, Inc., a small New York agency that handled national campaigns for large, corporate clients. The agency performed innovative and highly successful work in television, radio, print press, and the creative area of "special events."

She was involved in projects for the Colgate Palmolive Company (Colgate-Dinah Shore Winner’s Circle Golf Tournament, et al,) Buckingham Industries (Cutty Sark Menswear Awards,) Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Inc., Fieldcrest, and many others. She also scripted syndicated radio programs featuring James Beard, Arlene Frances, and Adelle Davis.

Today, Becker serves clients in the fields of retail, healthcare, human resources, human services, financial services, fine and performing arts, consumer goods, information technology, beauty/fitness, food services, consulting, design/build and real estate.

Ellie Becker is the recipient of the Matrix Award in Public Relations, given by Women in Communications, Fairfield County Chapter and of the Connecticut Press Club First Prize, Public Relations for a News Release.

She serves on the boards of the Fairfield County Public Relations Association (Director, Vice President, President 1997-98,) Human Services Council of Mid-Fairfield (Director,) Preferred Medical Services, Inc., Blue Bell, Penna. (Advisor to the Board of Directors on Public Relations and Marketing Matters,) Norwalk Symphony Orchestra (Past Governor, Past Chair Public Relations,) Peter Vane Advertising, White Plains, New York (Member, Advisory Board,) First Night SoNo, South Norwalk, Connecticut (Founding Director, Co-chair Marketing Committee.)

She was a member of the Entrepreneurial Support Task Force of the Southwest Economic Development Alliance (SWEDA,) a public/private cooperative effort of the Connecticut Department of Economic Development, regional legislators and business leaders. She is also a member of the Connecticut Press Club, The National Federation of Press Women, the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce (and a founding member and 1996-97 chair of its Chamber Development Council for Women,) and the Fairfield Business Network.

During the political turmoil of the late 1960’s, Becker was an investigative reporter for the Temple Free Press, in those days the alternative newspaper for Temple University, Philadelphia. Over the years she has been a contributor on PR topics to consumer and business media as well as to trade journals for various industries. Her work for clients appears regularly in daily and weekly newspapers, and trade publications, regionally and throughout the country. She also writes and speaks on public relations and marketing topics.
